ServicesRoof Replacement
Roof Replacement in Macclenny, Done Right at Every Seam
Once patching stops keeping the water out, replacing the roof is the honest answer. We strip your home's roof to bare wood, fix any weak decking, then take our time on the flashing, fasteners and vents that decide whether a new roof lasts.

When a New Roof Makes More Sense Than Another Repair
Roofs usually wear out slowly. The shingles shed their grit, the seal strips weaken in the heat, and before long a stain turns up in a bedroom, then another in the hall. When each fix just moves the problem somewhere else, a full replacement tends to cost less than a string of repairs.
We start by looking. If roof repair can give you several more solid years, you will hear that from us first. If replacement is the right call, we show you photos of the worn spots and explain the options in plain terms before you decide anything.
Most roofs that fail early were let down by small things: no drip edge, nails driven at an angle, old flashing bent back into place. Those are exactly the spots where we slow down.
What Your Roof Replacement Includes
- Stripping the old roof completely
- Every old shingle and every scrap of worn underlayment comes off. Going over the top would hide the wood, and we want to see it.
- Deck repair and re-fastening
- Rotted or soft boards are cut out and replaced. We also check that the sheathing is fastened tightly, since a loose deck gives strong wind a place to grab.
- Underlayment and sealed seams
- A quality underlayment goes down over a deck with sealed seams, so your home still has a barrier if a gust ever peels back a shingle.
- All-new flashing
- Drip edge, valley metal, step flashing along walls and pipe boots are installed fresh. Reused flashing is one of the most common sources of leaks we find.
- Nailing checked by hand
- Fasteners go in the manufacturer's nail line, set flush and in the right count. Small as it sounds, that placement is what holds shingles flat through a hard summer storm.
- Attic airflow and a clean yard
- We balance intake and exhaust venting so heat and moisture can leave the attic. Then the lawn and driveway get a rolling magnet sweep for loose nails.
Signs Your Roof May Be Ready for Replacement
Stains in several rooms
A single drip can often be repaired. Water marks showing up in different parts of the house suggest the whole roof is wearing thin.
Cupped, cracked or smooth shingles
When shingle edges lift, crack, or the surface turns smooth and dark, they no longer shed rain the way they should. Long, hot Florida summers speed this up.
A dip or soft spot
A wavy ridge line or a roof that feels spongy underfoot points to wet or weakened decking.
Grit collecting in the gutters
A steady buildup of coarse granules at the downspouts means the shingles are losing their protective surface.
An older roof full of patches
If the roof is near the end of its expected life and already has several repairs, one more patch may not be money well spent.
How Your Replacement Day Goes
- 1
Free estimate and photos
A technician checks the roof and the attic, takes pictures, and writes up an estimate that lists the materials and labor line by line.
- 2
Permit and a start date
We pull the reroof permit and set a date with you. We watch the forecast so your roof is never left open with rain on the way.
- 3
Covering your yard
Before anything comes off, we tarp shrubs and flower beds, protect nearby surfaces, and set a spot for debris away from your walkways.
- 4
Tear-off and installation
We open only what we can dry in that day. Then flashing, underlayment, roofing and vents go on, with permit inspections scheduled along the way.
- 5
Final look together
After debris is hauled off and the nails are swept, we go over the finished roof with you and answer any questions before we call the job complete.

What Drives the Price of a New Roof
Your price comes from your roof's actual measurements and condition, so we give it after we visit. The written estimate lists each part of the job separately, so nothing surprises you later. If paying over time suits you better, financing is available.
- Square footage and slope
- A bigger roof takes more material and labor. A steep one calls for added safety equipment and a slower pace.
- Condition of the deck
- Some weak boards stay hidden until the old roofing comes off. Before we begin, we explain how replacement sheathing would be priced.
- Metal or shingles
- Architectural shingles are cheaper at the start, while metal roofing costs more up front and tends to last many more years. We lay out both for your roof, and you make the call.
- Chimneys, skylights and valleys
- Every one of these needs flashing of its own, which adds material and time.
- Extra layers and permits
- A hidden second layer means more removal and hauling. The permit fees and inspections are already included in your estimate.
Questions About Replacing Your Roof
Something not covered here? (904) 937-1477
How many days will my new roof take?
Usually one to three days, based on the size and pitch of the roof and how much decking needs repair. Whatever we open gets dried in before we leave each day. If rain delays us, you will hear from us.
Should I stay home during the work?
It isn't required. We do like to greet you on the first morning and walk the finished roof with you at the end. Tear-off gets noisy, so it helps to pull cars out of the driveway and take framed pictures down from upstairs walls.
Can the new roof go over the old shingles?
We suggest tearing them off. A bare deck lets us spot and repair rot, and new underlayment and flashing sit flat on clean wood. An extra layer covers up problems and puts more weight on the framing.
Do you stand behind the work once it's done?
Yes. Each roof we replace comes with our 5-year workmanship warranty on the installation, and we explain what it covers when you get your estimate.
Could insurance cover a new roof?
It might, if wind or hail caused the wear. On storm damage claims, our technician meets your adjuster and gives them the photos and roof measurements we gathered. The coverage decision still belongs to your insurer. The Storm Damage Repair page walks through the steps.
Do you work outside Macclenny?
We do. Homes in nearby towns such as Starke, Middleburg, Orange Park and Fleming Island get the same careful installation and the same estimate process.
