Macclenny Metal Roofs, Installed With Care
A well-installed metal roof can stay on your home through two or three shingle roofs, as long as the trim, flashing and fasteners are handled correctly. We put in and repair metal roofs with close attention to those small pieces, because they decide whether the roof stays watertight for decades.

A Metal Roof Is Only as Good as Its Details
Metal panels themselves rarely fail. Leaks almost always start somewhere small: a screw driven at an angle, a washer squeezed too tight, a ridge closure left out or a pipe boot that was never meant for metal. Those are the spots we slow down on.
We install both standing seam panels, where the fasteners hide under the seam, and exposed-fastener panels like 5V crimp and ribbed screw-down. On the visit we tell you plainly which one fits your home, your budget and how long you plan to stay.
Metal also makes sense for Florida summers. It reflects more sun than dark shingles, sheds afternoon downpours fast and holds up well to wind when it's fastened to the right pattern.
What Goes Into Every Metal Roof We Install
Tear-off and deck check
We remove the old roof and look at every sheet of decking. Soft or delaminated plywood gets replaced before anything goes on top, and you see photos of what we found.
High-temperature underlayment
Metal gets hot, so we use a synthetic underlayment rated for the heat that builds under panels. It's the second line of defense if wind-driven rain ever finds a gap.
Fasteners set straight and snug
On screw-down panels, each screw goes in square to the panel with the washer compressed just enough to seal. Overdriven screws crack the washer, underdriven ones let water wick in.
Clips that let the panels move
Standing seam panels expand and shrink every day in the sun. We use clips that let them slide, which keeps the seams from buckling or pulling fasteners loose over time.
Trim, closures and flashing
Eave and ridge closures keep out rain, wasps and nesting birds. Valleys, walls and chimneys get flashing bent to fit, and every pipe gets a boot made for metal.
Cleanup and warranty
We sweep metal shavings off the panels the same day so they can't leave rust stains, then magnet-sweep your yard. The finished roof is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty.

Signs It's Time to Talk About Metal
- Screws backing out
- On an older screw-down roof, raised screw heads and cracked rubber washers are the most common cause of drips. Caught early, it's often a reseal rather than a new roof.
- Rust at edges and laps
- Orange staining where panels overlap or at cut ends means the coating has been breached. Left alone, it spreads under the paint.
- Loose or lifting ridge cap
- A ridge cap that rattles in the wind is usually missing fasteners or closures underneath, which lets rain blow in at the peak.
- Shingles near the end
- If your shingle roof is curling, losing granules or patched more than once, this may be the right moment to move to metal instead of reroofing the same way.
- Chalky, faded paint
- Heavy fading means the finish is wearing thin. We can tell you whether it's cosmetic or a sign the panels need attention.
How a Metal Roof Job Runs
- 1
A visit on your roof
A technician measures, checks the decking from the attic where possible, and photographs problem areas. We talk through panel types and colors with you on the spot.
- 2
A written estimate
You get a line-by-line estimate showing panels, underlayment, trim and any decking allowance. No pressure to decide that day.
- 3
Permit and ordering
We pull the permit and order panels cut to your roof's lengths, so there are fewer seams and less field cutting.
- 4
Installation
Tear-off and dry-in happen together so your home is never left open overnight. Panels, trim and flashing follow, with the inspection scheduled once the work is ready.
- 5
Walk-through
We walk the finished roof with you, show you the details that matter and leave your yard swept clean.
What Moves the Price of a Metal Roof
We price each metal roof from measurements taken on your home, not from a table. Below are the items that change the total the most. If paying over time suits you better, financing is available.
- Type of panel
- Standing seam uses more metal and more labor than exposed-fastener panels, but leaves no screws on the surface to look after.
- Shape of the roof
- Hips, valleys, dormers and a lot of vents call for extra trim and flashing, plus slower, more precise cuts.
- What sits below
- Soft decking or extra layers of old roofing mean more removal and more new wood. You see photos of it before anything is added to the job.
- Thickness and coating
- Heavier-gauge metal and better paint finishes cost more at the start and keep their shape and color for longer.
Metal Roofing Questions We Hear Most
- Is a metal roof loud when it rains?
- Over solid decking and underlayment, most people find it no louder than shingles. The noise people remember comes from metal on open barns. Your attic insulation helps quiet it further.
- Can you put metal right over my shingles?
- Sometimes, but we usually recommend tearing off. It lets us check and fix the decking, and it avoids trapping heat and moisture under the new panels. We'll explain the tradeoffs for your roof during the visit.
- Should I choose standing seam or screw-down panels?
- Screw-down costs less and works well, but the washers need checking every several years. Standing seam costs more and hides the fasteners, so there's very little to maintain. It often comes down to budget and how long you'll stay in your home.
- Does a metal roof change my gutters?
- Metal sheds water faster and in heavier sheets, so undersized gutters can overflow. We look at them during the visit, and our gutters service can resize or add guards if needed.
- What backs your work?
- We're PGT certified, and every metal roof we install comes with our 5-year workmanship warranty. If something we installed isn't right, we come back and make it right.
