Roof Repair in Macclenny, Done Right Down to the Last Nail

A small leak rarely starts where the stain shows up. We trace the water back to its source, repair the flashing, shingles or fasteners that actually failed, and show you what we did. Most roofs need a careful fix, not a new roof.

Fixing One Problem Area Instead of the Whole Roof

A repair fits when most of your roof is still in good shape and the trouble sits in one spot: a split pipe boot, a handful of shingles torn off in a gust, a valley letting water slip underneath, or flashing that has worked loose from a wall or chimney. Done carefully, that one fix can keep the roof you already own working for years.

Most leaks come down to small details. A nail driven a little crooked, a missing bead of sealant behind a step flashing, or a drip edge cut short can let water in for months before you see it on a ceiling. We look for those details first, because a patch over the symptom just moves the leak a few feet over.

If we find the roof is near the end of its life and repairs would only buy a season, we will say so plainly and talk through roof replacement as an option. The choice stays with you.

What Our Roof Repair Covers

Leak tracing
We follow water stains, attic decking and fastener lines back to where water is actually getting in. You get photos of the source before we touch anything.
Shingle replacement and matching
Torn, creased or missing shingles are removed and replaced with the closest available match in color and profile. Each new shingle is nailed in the right zone and sealed down so wind can't lift it.
Flashing and pipe boot repair
Step flashing, chimney flashing, wall flashing and cracked rubber pipe boots are some of the most common leak points we see. We replace them properly instead of smearing roof cement over the gap.
Decking checks
Where water has been sitting, we check the plywood underneath for soft spots. Rotted sections are cut out and replaced with sound wood.
Vents and ridge work
Loose ridge caps, damaged box vents and failed ridge vent sections are repaired or replaced, keeping your attic ventilation working the way it should.

Signs Your Roof Needs a Repair

  • Water marks overhead

A tan or brown patch on the ceiling that spreads after each heavy rain tells you water has been getting in for some time. Finding the entry point early saves drywall and insulation.

  • Shingles on the lawn

Even a couple of shingles in the yard leave nail holes and bare underlayment exposed. One strong afternoon storm can push water straight through.

  • Grit collecting in one gutter run

Shingles shed a little grit as they age. When one stretch of gutter or one downspout collects far more than the rest, the shingles above it may be damaged and deserve a closer look.

  • Daylight or damp spots in the attic

If you can see light through the decking or feel damp insulation, water has a path in. Check around vent pipes and the chimney first.

  • Lifted or curling edges

Shingles that no longer lie flat let wind-driven rain get underneath, especially along the eaves and rakes.

How a Repair Visit Goes

  1. 1

Your call and a scheduled visit

Tell us what you're seeing and where. We set up a time for a technician to come out, and the estimate is free.

  2. 2

Inspection on the roof and in the attic

We check the leak area, the flashing around it and the decking from below when we can reach it. You see the photos and hear what we found in plain words.

  3. 3

    A written estimate

You get a line-item estimate covering the materials, the decking allowance if it's needed and anything that might change the scope. No work starts until you say yes.

  4. 4

    The repair

We protect your landscaping and walkways, remove damaged materials and rebuild the area layer by layer: underlayment, flashing, then shingles. If a permit is required for the work, we pull it.

  5. 5

    Cleanup and a walk-through

Old shingles and scraps go straight into our trailer, and a magnetic roller goes over the beds and driveway to catch stray nails. Then we show you the finished area with before and after photos.

What Decides the Price of a Repair

We price the repair after we've been on your roof and found what's causing the problem, because that sets how much work it takes. Every part of the job has its own line on the estimate, with nothing lumped together. If the repair turns out bigger than you expected, financing is available.

The part that gave out
Swapping a pipe boot doesn't take long. Rebuilding chimney flashing or a valley takes more hours and more material.
Hidden damage below
If the plywood beneath a leak has softened, we lay new boards first so shingles nail into solid wood. This often can't be seen until the old layer comes up, so the estimate explains how we would handle it.
Slope and reach
Second-story and steep roofs take more safety setup and more time to work on.
Finding a match
Popular shingle lines are simple to get. Specialty materials or styles no longer made can take more hunting to match closely.

Roof Repair Questions We Hear Often

Something not covered here? (904) 937-1477

Will a repair stop my leak, or is it time to replace the roof?

In many cases the leak can be fixed by itself. We raise replacement only when wear shows across the whole roof or the damage covers too much area for a repair to last. You'll see the photos either way and decide for yourself.

Is the repair covered by a warranty?

Yes. Repair work we do carries a 5-year workmanship warranty. If a piece we installed fails because of a mistake in our installation, we'll return and fix it.

Will the new shingles match my roof?

We work to find the closest match in color and style. Older shingles fade in the Florida sun, so a brand new piece may look slightly brighter at first, and it usually blends in over time.

Should I file an insurance claim for my leak?

It depends on the cause. Wear and age usually aren't covered, while wind or storm damage often is. If the damage looks storm-related, we can work directly with your insurance adjuster, and our storm damage repair page has more on how that works.

How long does a typical repair take?

Many repairs are finished in a single visit once the materials are on hand. Larger jobs involving decking or a full valley can take longer, and we'll give you a realistic timeline in the estimate.

Let's Find Where the Water Is Getting In

We'll send a technician to look at the leak, point out where it starts and put a written price in your hands before anything on the roof is touched. Finding out what your roof needs costs you nothing.
